In the last few years there has been a distinct tendency of selling high ticket “how –to- make-money” information products through product launches.
Product launch usually include pre-launch phase, launch phase and post-launch phase.
On the surface those product launches seem to fit in the “information product creation” online business model, in its marketing module in particular .
But I would say that we have more than just a marketing method here. We should treat this phenomenon at least as a new sub-type within the infoproduct business model.
If you think about it, product launch strategy is a fusion of a membership sites model with multi-media marketing and buzz marketing.
One of the indications that strategy grown in a separate business model is a spawn of a variety of infor products, seminars, bootcamps, home study courses dedicated to that topic. And as a matter of fact, there have been at least several home study courses and bootcamps already teaching different aspects of product launch.
The latest one is LaunchTree. This one is talking about different methods to double and triple your profits even after the launch phase for your product is over.
Many marketers pay enough attention to the pre-launch and launch phases of their products, but don’t make the most out of the post-launch phase leaving a lot of money on the table.
